COMPUTEX, the Asia's largest and the world's second largest B2B ICT exhibition had just been held from June 5th to 9th for the 32nd time in Taipei. This year, the grand meeting has a record high number of 1,800 exhibitors with 5,300 booths at five venues, drawing 130,013 visitors, incl. 36,500 from overseas.
The ZEBEX booth this year was located at an eye-catching area in the exhibition hall: right at the entrance in the first row. It's hard not to see the high floating giant spaceship balloon with ZEBEX logo. It is surely eye-attracting and imposing to the visitors. The booth was decorated with elegant, simple, red and white themes celebrating the ZEBEX 25th anniversary. The entire room looked lively and energetic yet subtle enough to not to command attention away from the more important things: the ZEBEX products. For promotional purpose, a QR code could be seen on the side wall allowing visitors to immediately enter the ZEBEX official website upon mobile phone scan. It provided convenience to visitors who were interested to know more about the ZEBEX products and services but did not have enough time to come in the booth.
As a custom to ZEBEX, we had always thrived on constructing the most crowd pleasing dynamic displays in COMPUTEX. Our ingeniously designed displays installed around the populated corner had always been the talk of the industry in the past. Once again this year, a unique and exquisite display was in place and once again, a model train took the center stage. The elevated tracks, transparent acrylic, and the enormously expanded area which was 360cm long and 200cm wide made the display different from the past years. It generously exhibited the ZEBEX main line products as well as the 2D products and also clearly demonstrated the speed and accuracy of the scanners as the train passed through in high speed. Another newly invented element in the display this year was the examples of product scenarios used in the background; the scenarios including retail stores, supermarkets, shopping malls, cinemas, libraries, hospitals, post offices and administrative center, parking, playgrounds, gas stations, etc enabled the visitors to see a widespread of barcode usages and hopefully inspired their imagination. With the constant praise we received, there is no doubt that in the five-day period, the model train attracted more crowds than most exhibitors in COMPUTEX. Visitors simply could not resist their curiosity when they heard the beeping sounds and had to stop to take a few pictures.
 Furthermore, to comply with the anniversary celebrating theme, we decorated a wall with lively gift box shaped windows for displaying full range of mobility products and another wall of cutely painted egg shaped windows for displaying key scanner products. In addition, as a popularity collocation, a specially designed iPad application was made to be used along with our data collector. It allowed users to play card flipping games and also to check their home town weather via Z-1170BT and cloud computing. We believe the fun interactions between the users and the data collectors had left a lasting impression.
For the first time in ZEBEX history, we hosted eight stalls of the exhibition and arranged more spacious and comfortable meeting area for our guests than in the past. In the semi-open meeting area, a full range of the ZEBEX products were provided allowing visitors to actually test the products. Not only did the live demonstration heighten the user experience, it also showed that ZEBEX products are not just empty promises and can stand the test of completion.
